Join the Governing Board of The Griffin Primary School - become a Trustee and Help Shape the Future of Education The Griffin Primary School is at an exciting stage of its journey, as it prepares to join a MAT with Lawrence Sheriff School in January 2027. We are seeking two new Trustees to join our Board from 1st September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the education and wellbeing of local children while helping to shape the strategic direction of our school. Who Are We Looking For? We welcome applications from anyone who is passionate about providing an excellent education for children in our community. In particular, we are keen to hear from individuals with experience or expertise in: Law Human Resources (HR) However, these are identified skills gaps rather than essential requirements. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds who can demonstrate a commitment to improving outcomes for young people and supporting the work of the school. What Does the Role Involve? As a Trustee, you will: Support the school's vision, values, and strategic direction. Provide appropriate challenge and oversight to school leadership. Help ensure that resources are used effectively and responsibly. Promote high standards of educational achievement and pupil wellbeing. Attend Board meetings and contribute to key decisions affecting the school and its community. What Skills and Qualities Are Needed? We are looking for people who: - Have a genuine interest in education and children's futures. - Can think strategically and work collaboratively. - Are willing to dedicate time to meetings, training, and reading papers. - Bring professional experience, insight, and good judgement. No previous trustee experience is required. Training and support will be provided. Safeguarding The Griffin Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
